Gavin Delacour
Profile (Author)
John Delacour was born in 1938, the seventh child of a family of 10. He left school at 13 years old to work on a cattle station west of Charters Towers. Late in 1952 he ended up on a cattle station outside Normanton and worked on stations in that area for 12 years. He met his wife Phyll there, and they now have been married for 50 years. John often tells stories to their grandchildren, so it wasn’t hard to write this one down just as he likes to tell it. He has a deep respect for the environment and uses stories to share this with children.
