Eva Pootchemunka
Profile (Co-Author)
Eva Pootchemunka (1933-2006) grew up in Aurukun Mission and was the mother of twelve children. When outstations were re-opened in the 1970s Eva was glad to go and live out bush again at Ti-Tree outstation on her husband’s country. Her own country is Upper Kirke River and Kencherang. Eva was a skilled bush woman and maker of pandanus mats and bowls. She was always keen to pass on her knowledge and love of the land, and its stories.
