Kathy Gibson was born in Halifax near Ingham in the bush (Gumbi-gumbi) Mungala land 75 years ago but when she was a child her whole family was moved to Palm Island. Kathy trained as a nurse where she came to care for babies whose mothers were on Fantome Island. Kathy did several jobs on Palm Island including organising the annual show, sports, Saturday dances and library. After many years with the Justice Group, Kathy is now actively retired and is focusing on forming an Elders group. She is also a singer and songwriter.
