Jack Bell
Profile (Illustrator)
Jack Bell was born at Aurukun and was a small boy when his Wik Mungkan family was moved to Palm Island as punishment for his father. That was over 60 years ago. After Jack left school he worked at a sawmill and with a whaleboat crew transporting freight to Fantome Island. Jack’s family moved back to Aurukun in 1978 after his father died. He is living there today, where he is well-known as a visual artist and sculptor.
