Glee Sellin & Mary Tolputt
Profile (Author/Illustrator)
Glee Sellin and Mary Tolputt are two sisters from a large Bidgera family, the Wilmotts of inland central Queensland. They grew up in Winton, their parents working on stations, and left school early as there wasn’t much money. Mary loved learning and Glee broke the Queensland record for girls in the 200 yards sprint, but they were not given the opportunity to go further. Their lives have included jobs in the railways and hospitals, caring and cleaning and fruit-picking in many places. They have three children each, and a number of grandchildren. Glee now lives in Biloela working for aged care and Mary is in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, also working in a nursing home. The two sisters are working on another book project.
