Anthony Turnbull, known as Boy to his family, is originally from Chincilla but now resides in Oakey, Queensland. His mother’s tribal homeland is Mithika in Western Queensland, and his father’s tribal area is Bigumbul in Southern Queensland. Boy learnt Aboriginal art and craft from the late Vincent Serico after leaving school at Grade 10. He has lived and worked throughout Southern and Western Queensland in various jobs from mulesing sheep to being a builder’s labourer.
