Profile (Illustrator)

Vicky Duncan has grown up around Inverell in northern NSW, Kamilaroi country, where she is still learning about her culture and language from her father. She has been doing art since a teenager, and now teaches art at local schools and at the South Inverell Linking Together Centre, as well as selling her work at markets. The illustrations in Original Girl are done in gouache on paper, but Vicky also enjoys using ochres, fibres, wood and emu eggs, and designing dream catchers, tattoos and cartoons. This is her first book.
