Robbie Paul

 

Profile (Illustrator/Designer)

Robert Paul was born in a large Aboriginal and South Sea Islander family in Bowen and now lives with his wife and two childen in Townsville. He always had an interest in practising art at home as a hobby, painting murals and exhibiting paintings. After working as a boner in the meat processing plant for 14 years, he explored new avenues for work. Robbie graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Communications Design at James Cook University. These illustrations, using acrylic paints, started their life as a project for that course. Now his own business includes graphic design and illustration. He won an award for designing Black Ink's first book, "Crow Feathers, an Indigenous Collection of poems and images".
